Veterans Administration Improved Pension Benefit with Aid & Attendance is a disability pension for non-service connected illnesses or injuries. It can be used to help offset the cost of home healthcare or assisted living facility expenses. Many of those who qualify for the pension frequently also qualify for additional income from the Aid & Attendance Benefit. Please note that either the veteran or the spouse receives income according to which of them meets the medical requirements. If both spouses meet the criteria and only one is a veteran, you cannot receive the veteran and the spousal benefit concurrently. However, if both spouses are veterans and both meet the qualification criteria; they may receive a maximum combined amount of $3,253 per month. The Veteran Administrative sends the funds directly to the recipient and the recipient has full discretion on disbursal of the award.

*Single Veteran: $2,050.83
*Un-remarried Single Spouse: $1,371.33
